Peals of Joy Christmas Concert

“PEALS OF JOY” CONCERT DECEMBER 10

This year’s “Peals of Joy” concert by Lyn and Tim will be presented as their Christmas gift to the congregation on Sunday, December 10th at 2:00 in the afternoon. They will begin with “Adestes Fideles” (“O Come, All Ye Faithful”) as a piano and organ duet written by Joel Raney. The carol invites the listener to go to Bethlehem and adore Christ the Lord, sing with the angels, and bless Christ’s name. The arrangement captures the essence of those sentiments beautifully. One of the pieces being played on piano and synthesizer (“Come Unto Him” from Handel’s Messiah) expresses musically what our stained-glass window shows so perfectly – Jesus with his arms welcoming us. What a comforting thought! We will be playing various French and German carols with differing instrumentation, as well as the famous Ukrainian Bell Carol. Tim will be singing “My Grown-Up Christmas List” as there is a real need to hear those lyrics now more than ever – “no more lives torn apart, that wars would never start, and time would heal all hearts. Every man would have a friend, and right would always win, and love would never end” – if only. We are hoping to move you into the spirit of the season with our musical offerings. See you there.
