Confirmation is a two-year program designed to prepare students to become full, active members of the church and to dedicate themselves to living a life of discipleship. Students generally complete Confirmation during 7th and 8th grades, using the UCC- developed “Affirming Faith” curriculum in conjunction with the “re:form” confirmation resource. They meet in the Confirmation Room most Sundays during Second Hour, but also have a schedule of visits to other houses of worship, service projects, and retreats. The Confirmation year begins with an overnight retreat at Camp Kern and ends with the rite of Confirmation and a week-long Pilgrimage to either Atlanta or St. Louis & Memphis.
SIGNS Ecumenical High School Youth Group welcomes teens from any area high school and any faith background, has been in Kettering for 14 years. We meet on most Sunday evenings during the school year from 7:00 until 8:30 pm, at the Grove. We also have a variety of community service and social events throughout the year, as well as an annual summer trip. We've traveled to Tennessee, Colorado, Kentucky, Minnesota, California and just this past summer, we went to New Orleans, where we worked in, and explored that city on a level that most tourists never experience.
