Church School classes are offered during Second Service (9:50 a.m.) each Sunday morning. Children sign in at the table in the Narthex, then worship with their parents for the first part of the service. They are dismissed to class after the children’s message. 3 and 4 year olds are taught using the Group Hands-On curriculum, while K-6th graders currently use the Feasting on the Word curriculum, a lectionary-based program in the Reformed tradition. We have a staff-supervised nursery for infants and toddlers available during worship, as well. During the summer, we move to a one-room schoolhouse format in which K-6th graders all have class together, while the 3s & 4s are joined by the children in the nursery.
Summer brings SS Summer, our version of VBS, which sails on selected Wednesday evenings beginning in June. This fun, free program for kids in grades K-6 is held at David’s Grove and includes dinner, skits, crafts, and other activities to help expand the children’s knowledge of the Bible and to help them become faithful followers of Jesus.
